PROJECT NETWORK
Introduction
Network Bakırçay has been designed as a platform that students and graduates of our university can use both during their education life and after they complete their education life and graduate. The Network Project is ready for use for the following areas/services:
- Academic and administrative units defining in-university activities for students
- To be able to identify the activities that the student participated in both inside and outside the university during his/her education
- Realization of the control and approval of the activities within and outside the university entered by the student by the relevant units
- Preparation of the student's social transcript based on the approved activities
- Students or graduates can create their own profiles by entering their own information such as educational information, certificates, foreign language information, internship and work experiences
- Apply to internship and job postings published by companies through their profile, both during their student years and after graduation
- Companies can define job and internship announcements by creating a company profile
- Companies can reach the people they need by searching among students who allow their profile to be viewed

Problem
The lack of an alumni information system infrastructure, which has been implemented by many universities, which is one of the most important channels to create a social transcript for the activities that the student has done / participated in during his/her education life and to maintain contact with our university after graduation, has revealed the need to develop a solution in this regard.
When the relevant studies of the universities are examined, it is seen that these 2 platforms are designed as systems that are either used during student life and not used afterwards, or systems that can be used after graduation. The related systems are designed completely independently of each other. Both the absence of the relevant systems in our university and the fact that these two systems are designed independently of each other in the current approaches cause some problems:
- Failure to Provide Social Transcripts: The activities that the student participated in or realized during his/her education life cannot be presented by our university to third parties and companies as a social transcript whose accuracy can be checked
- Failure to Ensure Student Belonging: The lack of a platform to collect data on the student's work experiences and experiences after graduation, and the fact that the collected data does not help the student in processes such as finding a job, etc. reduces the student's sense of belonging to the university and causes it to disappear gradually after graduation.
- Lack of Sustainability: The fact that the student is obliged to use a different system during his/her student life and a different system after graduation causes the student to lose interest in the relevant systems and avoid data entry and prevents the creation of a sustainable structure.
- Duplicate Data Entry: Students are forced to re-enter their soft skills, certificates and internship experiences acquired during their student life into a second system after graduation.
- Company-Operational Difficulties: Companies try to meet their personnel needs via e-mail through universities' career centers, which operationally burdens both the company and the university staff.
Solution:
As a solution to the difficulties caused by both the lack of the required systems within our university and their design as separate systems in current practices;
- Verifiable Social Transcript: Students can receive verifiable social transcripts with the necessary controls and approvals for their activities in their education life through the system.
- Improving Student Belonging: With the current platform, a structure that the student can benefit from throughout his/her life has been designed and will contribute to the development of belonging by providing communication channels between students and alumni in the future versions.
- Sustainability: Since the designed platform aims to provide a structure that students can use at all times, a sustainable structure has been established.
- Healthy Data Entry: Thanks to the platform, duplicate data entry of students into different systems is prevented.
- Company - Personnel Supply: A structure has been established where companies can carry out both personnel search and advertisement processes without contacting individuals through the profiles they will create on their behalf.
