BOOK RECOMMENDATION SYSTEM
Introduction
We are pleased to introduce the new "Book Recommendation System" to make more efficient use of our university libraries' resources and provide personalized book recommendations to our users. This system has been developed to increase the utilization of library resources and enable our users to easily find books that fit their needs.
Problem Definition
We face various challenges to ensure effective use of library resources and increase user satisfaction:
- Effective Use of Library Resources: Reporting how and at what rate library resources are used is important for planning the investments to be made next year.
- Lack of Knowledge of User Preferences: Making book recommendations based on users' interests ensures effective use of library resources. However, in the current situation, it can be difficult to understand users' preferences and recommend appropriate books to them.
- Infrequency Problem in Book Recommendations: The inability of users to rate books and the inability of the system to make recommendations based on users' interests is a major problem affecting the accuracy of the book recommendation system.
- Purchase Planning: The inability to determine the books to be purchased in the following year based on usage history leads to inefficient library investments.
Solution:
Our newly developed "Book Recommendation System" aims to eliminate these problems and increase the efficient use of library resources. The main advantages of our system are as follows:
- Personalized Book Recommendations: It provides personalized book recommendations based on users' interests and reading histories. In this way, our users can easily find the most suitable books for themselves.
- Detailed Usage Reports: By reporting the use of library resources, it provides data for future investments and increases the effective use of the library.
- Advanced Algorithms: Advanced algorithms such as content-based filtering and cosine similarity are used to identify and recommend books that best match users' interests.
- Easy Access and Use: Thanks to our user-friendly interface, you can easily access our system and receive book recommendations instantly.
